Russian Monster is a fiery dwarf which also appears as a hawk and which
can turn himself into a whirlwind and bring disaster to people. To
stave it off people would throw a knife into whirlwinds in order to try
to kill it or would bow down to prevent the misfortune and illness it
might bring. .
