The Wolf and the Quail

A quail which was tired of flying sat down for a nap when a wolf grabbed her.
“I’ll eat you,” the wolf told her.
“Please, please don’t eat me!” the quail begged. “If you don’t eat me I’ll bring you five calves which will be much better to eat then a quarter pound of fluff and feathers like me.
“Your trying to trick me,” the wolf growled.
But the quail reassured the wolf that she was telling the truth.
Pleased at the prospect of getting enough calves to eat for weeks the wolf let the quail go and then he laid down to wait for her return.
The quail flew to another tree.
“Dergunov, my kinsman, it was horrible I was caught by a wolf,” the quail said.
“How are you saved?”
“I promised to bring the wolf five calves.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, a quail is driving five calves,” the Dergunov began to shout.
The wolf then waited and waited but no calves came for him to eat.
